The newly constituted Public Appointments Committee (PAC) of Parliament on Saturday September 5, 2020 met the Office of the Director of Public Officers Declarations’ (ODPOD) management and Staff at Kabumba Hotel in Salima in its first quarterly meeting.

Chairperson of the Committee Honorable Joyce Chitsulo said the aim of the meeting was to appreciate how the Directorate operates and learn its present operational status. The Public Appointments Committee also wanted to get an update on the status of the 2019-2020 declarations process.

The Chairperson congratulated the newly Appointed ODPOD Director Mr. Michael Chiusiwa for his appointment and assured him of the Committee’s support.

In his remarks, Mr. Michael Chiusiwa assured the Public Appointments Committee that the Directorate will continue working to serve the public and ensure that it achieves its main objective which is to promote public confidence in the public service.

The Public Appointments Committee of Parliament is responsible for overseeing the administrative functions of the Directorate.
